Anticorrosive Wafer Butterfly Valve — WCB Body with PTFE Liner and PTFE Coated SS316 Disc

This anticorrosive wafer butterfly valve completely eliminates contact between any metallic surface and the process fluid: the WCB body is protected by a continuous PTFE liner that covers the entire interior and forms the sealing seat, and the SS316 stainless steel disc has a PTFE coating over its entire surface. The result is a valve where the corrosive fluid only touches PTFE — in neither the closed nor open position is there contact between the fluid and the metal.

This is the version with the highest chemical protection within the WCB anticorrosive butterfly valve family, and the correct choice when the fluid is aggressive enough to attack the SS316 of the disc in continuous service — fluids with high chlorides, moderate oxidizers, or acids in concentrations that would damage the disc's metal over time. For extremely aggressive fluids (HF, concentrated ClO₂, H₂SO₄ >70%), the correct solution is the anticorrosive ball valve with PFA lining →

Construction Materials

  • Body: Carbon steel WCB — mechanical support structure. The metal has no contact with the fluid thanks to the PTFE liner.
  • Internal liner: Continuous molded PTFE — completely covers the interior of the body and forms the peripheral sealing seat of the disc
  • Disc: SS316 stainless steel with PTFE coating over its entire surface — the metal of the disc has no contact with the fluid in any opening position
  • Shaft / stem: SS316 stainless steel with PTFE seals

Comparison of the WCB anticorrosive butterfly valve family

Variant Body Disc Protection Best for
WCB + PTFE liner, SS316 disc WCB + PTFE liner SS316 uncoated Protected body — exposed disc Diluted acids and alkalis where the SS316 of the disc is sufficient
WCB + PTFE liner, PTFE coated disc ← This product WCB + PTFE liner PTFE coated SS316 Zero metal-fluid contact Fluids that attack SS316 disc — high chlorides, oxidizers, zero metallic contamination

Compatible Fluids

  • ✅ Sulfuric acid H₂SO₄ up to 40%
  • ✅ Hydrochloric acid HCl up to 35%
  • ✅ Nitric acid HNO₃ up to 30%
  • ✅ Phosphoric acid H₃PO₄ up to 85%
  • ✅ Caustic soda NaOH up to 50%
  • ✅ Sodium hypochlorite NaClO up to 15%
  • ✅ Ferric chloride FeCl₃ — any concentration
  • ✅ Seawater and concentrated brines at elevated temperatures
  • ✅ Moderate oxidizing solutions (H₂O₂ up to 20%)
  • ✅ Fluids where contamination by metallic ions from the disc is unacceptable
  • ⚠️ HF, H₂SO₄ >70%, concentrated ClO₂, H₂O₂ >30%: use PFA anticorrosive valve →

Available Operation Versions
